古时候有一种叫年的怪兽，每年12月30日，年都会到村子里吃人，它跑得比风还快，叫声比雷还响。
有一次，一个外地人来到一个村子里，一个人都没看见，他自言自语的说：“大白天的'怎么一个人都没有”。他走到一户人家门前敲了敲门，问有没有人在家，屋里的老人听到敲门的声音问“是谁呀?”他回答：“我是外地人，路过这里想借宿一晚。”老人看是一个年轻人就开门让他进去了，他问老人家大白天的怎么一个人也没有，老人家对年轻人说：“我们这个地方有一种怪兽叫做年，每到12月30日晚上都回到村子里捉人。”年轻人听老人说完，忙告诉老人家，你们不用担心了，我知道年怕什么了，年怕三样东西，一样是红色的火，一样是火炮，一样是对联。老人听完，召集村民们，告诉他们这三样东西，村民们听完后，有的到家里拿对联粘在门上，有的在铁盒子里面生火，还有的把鞭炮挂在棍子上，到了春节的时候，年来到村子里，看见家家户户都有红色的东西，撒腿就跑了。

中国有许多的传统节日，我最喜欢春节。因为春节十分的热闹，而且我觉得在这新的一年里，小孩子们才是最开心的，他们一听到春节来了，脸上就洋溢着喜悦的笑容。
在大年三十的前一天，我的家人们就开始忙着准备食材，来迎接新的一年的.到来。在这喜气洋洋的春节里，我跟着公公、婆婆还学会了不少本领呢！公公先教我贴春联，贴春联是要用浆糊来固定位置，然后再贴横联，再贴左右两边，这样春联就贴好了。
接下来，包饺子是我们家一起动手来做的。婆婆先教我和面，首先把两碗面粉和半碗水倒进一个盆子里，然后再用手把它们搅拌均匀揉成面团。我又着急又兴奋，结果弄得满手满脸都是面粉，像个小雪人，姐姐在旁边看着我哈哈大笑。我和姐姐把软软的面团放在桌子上，搓一搓、揉一揉，让它变成一根又细又长的小面条，用手捏下大小差不多的小面团，再用擀面杖擀成圆圆的饺子皮。经过一道道的步骤，我们大家终于可以包饺子了，婆婆叫我先把饺子皮放在手心上，把肉馅放在饺子皮的中间，然后把饺子皮对折在中间按一下，再从两边一点一点用力捏，这样美味的饺子就成功包好了。小小的饺子并不听话，一会儿肉馅冒出来了，一会儿皮又捏破了，忙活了半天，饺子终于一个一个都包好了，意味着新的一年喜庆团圆，吉祥如意。
晚上，全家人围坐在一起，吃着团圆饭，欢声笑语不断。大家都沉浸在幸福之中，愉快的一天就过完了。

在中国，春节习俗是多彩多样的。不光在衣着。住房有讲究，就连吃的食物上也有许多含义。比如：吃圆粉，代表团团圆圆；吃火锅，说明红红火火；吃鱼，寓意年年有余；最后一道甜食，祝福往后日子甜甜蜜蜜。
大年三十，家家户户贴春联，那么，你知道春联的由来吗？相传古代过年时，人们在桃符上题词，称“题桃符”。一般都是如：“姜太公在此，百无禁忌”或“有令在此，诸恶远避”等压邪话或符咒。后来，有人在题桃符基础上题联语，联语都是些吉家话语，对仗工整，长短对等。王安石有诗句：“总把新桃换旧符。”明代时，才将桃符改为春联。
接着，大年三十晚上十二点，压岁夜是不能睡的，就十二点给小孩压岁钱，象征着一生平平安安。“压岁钱”三字本来应该写作“压祟钱”。因为传说，古时候有一种身黑手白的小妖，名叫“祟”，经常在大年三十夜里出来害人，他用手在熟睡的孩子头上摸三下，孩子吓得哭起来，然后就发烧。病好了之后，聪明机灵的孩子就变成了痴呆疯癫的`傻子。家中的尊长就会用红线穿上铜钱挂在小孩胸前，铜钱的数目与小孩的岁数相同。因为岁与祟字同音，压岁就是压祟，所以民间认为这样做可以压邪驱鬼。明清时期，压岁钱大多是用红绳串着给孩子。民国以后，则演变成用红纸包一百文铜元，其意为“长命百岁”；给已成年的晚辈压岁钱，红纸包的是一枚大洋，象征着“财源茂盛”。“一本万利”。
